About Callie
On boards, with boards, answering to boards.
Callie has spent 20+ years in the nonprofit world: serving on boards, working with boards and answering to boards. Board Connections is what she wished existed. [CONFIRM Callie’s full name and preferred public name]

Why this exists
It started with a board that couldn’t find new people.
[PLACEHOLDER] A line in Callie’s voice. To be written or approved by her.Callie, founder
Boards like the Rochester Arts Center’s [CONFIRM permission to name] were struggling to find good new members beyond the usual circle. They wanted a more diverse pool, including younger members, and had no easy way to reach one.
[PLACEHOLDER] Callie tells the story in her own words: what she saw, who she talked to, and the moment she decided to build a bridge between boards and the people who want to serve.
[PLACEHOLDER] What she learned from two decades on every side of the table, and why vetting and welcoming matter as much as finding.
What we believe
Every nonprofit led by a strong, diverse board that reflects its community.
Our vision, in PJ and Callie’s words. The mission: we connect nonprofits with people eager to serve, and guide boards through finding, vetting and welcoming the right members.
Anyone can serve
You don’t need to be wealthy or a CEO. Boards need lived experience, skills and time.
Look past the usual circle
Diverse boards start with a wider, more welcoming search.
Vet and welcome
Finding people is half the job. Good boards also vet carefully and welcome new members well.
